Questions patients ask

What is the difference between a routine and a medical visit?

A routine visit checks how you see and is billed to a vision plan. A medical visit looks into a problem or an eye disease and is billed to medical insurance. Many visits are both.

Do you speak Spanish?

Yes. Both doctors and most of the front desk speak Spanish and English.

Do you work with Medicaid?

Whether Medicaid covers an eye visit depends on your plan. The front desk checks yours before the visit and tells you what to expect.

What should I bring?

Your glasses and contact lenses, your vision plan card and your medical insurance card, and a list of your medicines and eye drops.

Can I fill my prescription somewhere else?

Yes. Your prescription is yours. We give you a copy after your exam and fitting, and you can fill it anywhere.

What if it is an emergency?

For sudden vision loss, a curtain over your vision, an eye injury or a chemical splash, go to the emergency room now, or call 911.
